We bind the edges with whipping, linen, silks, or even leather the choice is yours. If your staircase turns, which is known as winders, we cleverly cut the carpet so that the join do not show. The result will be seamless.

If you want something original and custom made, we can help. Perhaps you have unusual stairs, perhaps you have found an unusual carpet, or perhaps you just want something unusual. We love the unusual, but we can also do the usual pretty well too, so whatever you need, we’d love to hear from you.
We design, create and install stair runners made from all types of carpet, including sisal, seagrass, coir, jute and flat-weave. Whether your staircase is long and winding, steep, narrow or wide, we’ll design and install the perfect runner.
The process
Consultation
If you already have a design in mind, we’ll take the measurements of your staircase and help you create it. If you don’t know what you want, that’s ok too. We’ll bring samples and discuss your requirements to help you choose the perfect design. After calculating the costs, we’ll then send you a quote for the project.
Made to measure
Once you have accepted the quote, and depending on the complexity of the design and the staircase, we will return to the property to build a template. The carpet is then ordered, cut to size, whipped and bound to seal the edges or finished with border tape. The runner is then carefully checked for defects and delivered to site.
Installation
The Yorkshire Flooring Company provides a full carpet runner installation service, even if you are providing your own carpet. Our installation team are trained, accredited and have many years of experience in the trade, making them some of the finest fitters in Yorkshire.
